Counseling can be particularly effective during these phases of life, not only to resolve the present difficulty, but to promote a level of self-discovery that provides tools for realizing dreams and potential. Counseling services for families touched by autism spectrum disorders or other developmental conditions is offered as a specialty service. Whether the issue is emotional meltdowns, anxiety, lack of impulse control, or inappropriate behaviors, one-on-one sessions tailored to meet your child's specific needs can minimize frustrations.
Consultation to schools is provided for autism programming considerations.

Friendship Groups provide professionally structured group sessions that can help your child learn to attend to others, read nonverbal cues, solve social problems and become a more engaging playmate.

Professional training is available on an individual or group basis in areas related to psychotherapy and autism treatment. Public speaking on autism related topics such as self esteem development, Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®), promoting social, emotional and relational growth, and treating co-occurring conditions in this population, are presentations that can be provided by Carrie Sheppard, M.Ed.
